The World’s Favourite Colour – Marrs Green

Earlier this week I was invited down to Hull with the lovely ladies at G . F Smith for the grand reveal of the World’s favourite colour and an exclusive preview of Paper City – a series of paper installations by the likes of Max Lamb, Made Thought and Bethan Laura Wood.
Following a global survey, where thousands of people spanning over 100 countries worldwide voted for their most loved colour (you may have seen my original colour round-up here), the results were officially in and while Natasha suggested that a bluey-green colour might be the hue of choice, I was secretly hoping for a little bit of coral pink action to match the perfect Palin pink.

Lo and behold, Miss Nuttall was spot on and via a flutter of helicopters over Hull’s Humber Street ‘Marrs Green’ was announced as the chosen one and will now join the iconic Colorplan range as the 51st shade. The colour was officially named in honour of survey participant Annie Marrs, who was zoned in as the closest to the winning hue and invited to announce the world’s favourite on the day.

‘I’m absolutely delighted to have picked the World’s Favourite Colour! The colour was inspired by the landscape that surrounds me at home in Scotland and that deep green hue with a tinge of blue has always been a
favourite of mine’
~ Annie Marrs
Adding a refreshing twist, the shade of teal is the perfect colour pop in the design world and mixed with whites and grey can add instant cool to any setting. It wouldn’t be a colour round-up without some product selection and while Anglepoise, H Furniture and Cambridge Satchel Company have all designed exclusive products for the pop-up shops in both Hull and London, there’s a whole host of companies that have managed to get Marrs green relatively spot on already.
