The Tropical Edit | Jungle Luxe

With grey skies looming over the UK for most of the year, it’s easy to dream of those more tropical climates, hence the Urban Jungle trend becoming a firm favourite amongst interior fanatics and homeowners alike. From lush foliage to botanical prints, there’s an opportunity to create oasis-like rooms filled with jungle references or a more luxe approach with the subtle use of colour, natural materials and quirky accessories. Both of which help to bring an essence of relaxation to rooms and personal style. If you didn’t see it already (shameless plug alert), you can see I commented on the style for Elle Decoration a little earlier this week!

In the bedroom specifically, the Urban Jungle trend can be luxurious and chic with sophisticated and rich colours combined with nature-inspired details. While light-filled spaces are the perfect accompaniment to any real plants in the abode, dark colours are the perfect sidekick to the jungle greens that are normally associated with exotic interior accessories such as patterned bedsheets. Mixing materials such as linens, silks and velvet can help to keep the trend long-lasting and relevant to your own personality.

I personally delve more towards the “go big or go home” approach as shown in my picks below but of course, you can easily adapt as you wish with the subtle integration of just a print, or two, or three, or four. Don’t even get me started on the urban jungle cushions.

How can you go wrong with monkey bookends??? 🙂

  2. […] As Emma Jane Palin points out, you can keep the color scheme for a Brazilian style chic and understated, or you can use deeper and brighter colors for a bolder look. Many people opt to keep a bedroom light and spacious by using white on the walls and then adding splashes of color with soft furnishings and accessories. If you only choose one color as you prefer a muted color scheme, then green is the best option and there are many shades of green from which you could choose. On the other hand, you may prefer to take a bold and vibrant route. With this interpretation of the Brazilian style, you can use almost any color. Think of the greens of the jungle, the blues of the ocean and waterfalls, the bright yellow of the sunshine, and the reds, pinks, and purples of the tropical flowers. […]
