Let’s talk bedroom accessories. Specifically, I’m talking prints. It was never going to be an EJP bedroom without some kind of artwork going on but in a very unexpected move, I knew this time I didn’t want to go overboard. A more minimal approach was needed to maintain the perfect Californian aesthetic. Thankfully, just in time, an email popped into my inbox from previous collaborators Desenio, and I knew that there would be the right fit for me amongst the hoards of photographic posters.

When looking at inspiration for the EJP bedroom, I was obsessed with the Palm Springs aesthetic brought my way in shows such as Mad Men, and while I didn’t want the connection to be too over-the-top, I knew that I also wanted to bring a slither of the beach and the sea to my room. I love travelling, and hey – London isn’t the best place for an aspirational view out of the window. Sometimes you’ve got to bring a little bit of the view to you and guess what? Photography is a great way to do just that.

Desenio has a great search tool, so to find the right prints for me I used the terms pool, sea and palm. Yeah, you get the picture. I really wanted to keep the look in the room quite slick so I decided to go for a series that worked really well together as opposed to a clash of prints. FYI, these are all framed in Desenio’s picture frames which I swear by – the frame ledge shown is also available via the site for those interested.

The blue theme of the imagery works wonderfully with the pink and orange in the rest of my room and the bare skin keeps it fresh and full of Miami vibes. The look is retro but the bum and legs add a modern take, don’t you think? There was another image in the series which featured two women which I also loved, but decided against in the end. Seemingly I stumbled on a trend in my picks as Desenio’s designers have since travelled the US coast to coast and created a photo series exclusive to Desenio, with designs from Los Angeles, Miami and Palm Springs. Pastel architecture, Californian coastlines and imagery from The Joshua Tree all feature within the new collection and you can bet that I’m wanting to bring a little more of the American Dream into my home! Did I say that I was going for the minimal look?

I’ve picked out some of my favourites from the new collection below. Remember, you can get 25% off with the code  ’emmajanepalin25′ between June 19th and June 21st. *Except for handpicked-/collaboration posters and frames. Sorry to your bank card in advance!
