I assume that it’s widely known that I love a rattan bed, and even now that I have two of the bad boys in my life, I still can’t help but lust over every other style that comes on to the highstreet. Jeez, they’re just so pretty. In the spirit of sharing the love, here’s my picks of the best rattan beds available for all your boho bedroom needs. Dream sweet!
Ria Rattan Bed* | Urban Outfitters | £849
Want the mother of all rattan beds? Look no further than the Ria (I have the pleasure of typing from her right now!). If you’re after a 70s-inspired boho bedroom, this is the style for you. You can even get matching with the rest of the Ria collection. Don’t doubt it, just go for it.
Reema black stain and cane double bed* | MADE | £499
If you’re looking for an affordable but still unique option, the Reema bed from MADE is the pick of the much. The all natural beauty is available in both natural oak and a black stained version, and features a cane insert on the rounded headboard. Channel a Parisian boutique hotel with this number, adding instant vintage boho charm to your bedroom.
Waska rattan bed* | La Redoute | £625
For something a little more structured, the Waska bed from La Redoute is a sure way to bring a sophisticated feel to your boudoir. The headboard in rattan cane wraps around the bed, creating a feeling of privacy and comfort. Pile it up with large cushions as shown above, opting for the matching bedside tables to really finish the look.
Nadia handwoven rattan double bed frame* | Habitat | £550
Oooff, if you’re really looking to bring the seventies vibes, the Nadia handwoven rattan bed will make the perfect retro addition. Designed in house at Habitat by Matt Long, the bed features a headboard and footboard that wrap around the edge of the mattress. At only £550 for the double option, it’s a statement piece that won’t break the bank.
Margot French bed | Loaf | £945
Not every rattan bed has to be a throwback to free love and flower power. The Margot bed by Loaf is as French country chic as they come, and will be a more subtle addition to your home. The solid oak piece has been given a weathered finish with a curved rattan headboard.
Delaktig bed frame with rattan headboard | IKEA | £450
A little more au natural than any of the other rattan bed options I have seen, this combined aluminium frame and rattan headboard is industrial but boho at the same time – the best of both worlds eh? The natural fibres add a softness to the design that will work wonderfully in a neutral or pastel bedroom.
Mikko Rattan Bed* | Urban Outfitters | £799
In yet another satisfying low creation from Urban Outfitters. the Mikko rattan bed is a boho-meets-modern bed frame. The simple wrap around rattan frame is finished with an iron base and will bring all the seventies warehouse vibes to your home.
Rattan bed frame* | John Lewis & Partners | £599
I love a little bit of John Lewis & Partners, and having seen this rattan bed at a press show earlier this year, I have to say I wondered if I could squeeze it in to another room in our home. JL furniture is always great quality at an affordable price, so it’s a good way to go if you’re stuck for choice. The curved cane headboard of this bed frame goes all the way down the back of the bed (so no losing your pillows) and comes in both natural oak and a stark black.
Liana ash and rattan bed* | MADE | £749
I’ve lusted over the Liana collection from MADE multiple times, and I even nabbed this Liana bed for our boho guest bedroom. That means it’s tried and tested folks. Understated, stylish and simple, the Liana’s natural beauty shines through. Designed by Sebastian Cox, the craftsmanship in this bed is undeniable and well worth the slightly higher price tag. I truly expect it to last forever.
